The Far Right in Bavaria

Manifestations and Actor Configurations

The goal of this collaborative project is to develop a phenomenology of right-wing extremist and far-right activities in Bavaria during the active phase of ForGeRex, which can be carried on even after the end of the association’s funding period. In line with the focus of the sub-projects, insights from various societal sectors, such as (social) media, police, judiciary, political parties, and social work, will be integrated.

The core objective is to lay the scientific foundations for distinguishing and highlighting the common core elements of far-right, right-wing populist, and right-wing terrorist phenomena. To this end, a platform will be created where data from different disciplines and categories can be meaningfully brought together.

The collaboration of the sub-projects within this project aims to create a digital, usable topography of Bavarian right-wing extremism for future research, prevention, and societal intervention.
