Funding & Support

ForGeRex is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts and will receive a total of €4.5 million over a four-year period (January 2024 to December 2027).

This funding program emphasizes interdisciplinary research on complex societal challenges, enriching discourse on the topic of research, and fostering the qualification of junior researchers as key features. As part of this, one particular aim of the association is to enable twelve junior researchers to complete their doctoral or postdoctoral qualifications during the association’s life cycle while gaining vital experience in interdisciplinary research.

In addition to ForGeRex, there are other Bavarian research associations, some funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts and others by different funding bodies. All associations are connected under the umbrella of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR). We thank the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts for funding ForGeRex.
